A group of Sudanese community activists represented Sarei in an interview with SBS Dinka call for the resignation of the former Minister of Defence Awad Ibn Auf immediately after he declared himself the head of the new transitional military council. With the new changes, the group is yet to send in any comment about the new leader Abdel Fatah after Ibn Auf resigned in 24 hours.

In Melbourne, the number of Sudanese demonstrated even before Omar Beshir stepped down as the president of Sudan. The group press release said that the Sudanese community in Australia and diaspora don’t recognise Awad Ibn Auf. In this Interview, Sarei on behalf of the group of demonstrators accused the ambassador of Sudan in Australia of being a loyalist to the former President. SBS Dinka will contact the embassy for comment about the allegation.

“Protesters in Sudan have vowed to stay on the streets despite an overnight curfew being imposed by the military. Sudanese Australians and Sudanese diaspora communities have vowed not to recognize the current regime or its cronies and embassies around the world. Demands have been made to departments of foreign affairs, political leaders and diplomats not to recognize the current illegitimate regime.”
