Tamworth, New South Wales, was once known as the city that said it did not want refugees. Now, 10 years on, the regional city in the state's north-east has not only welcomed a group of refugees, it is trying to turn around its reputation. Tamworth is actively lobbying for the chance to resettle some of the 12,000 Syrian refugees coming to Australia under former prime minister Tony Abbott's plan announced last year.
