Thiik Mayardit who is the immediate nephew of President Salva Kiir and the Deputy Mayor of Juba have condemned the actions of Lual-Marin Akok Wol. Lual is accused of leading the soldiers who killed civilians at the Shirkat, Juba today. One Australian is reported to be among the injured people.

Thiik Mayardit, said there was no excuse for Lual-marine to 'claim the land which he have no documents'. According to the eye witness, Lual-marine is known by locals as 'step son' to President Kiir but Thiik Thiik denied the link and claimed that Lual is not one of the Mayardit family members. Lual is reported to have  come to  Shirkat (suburb in Juba) this  morning with the intention to take a land where the cemetery is located. There were people who owns some lands around the same area and this had caused some problems before. This time, Lual came with the armed soldiers.

The group of land owners and Lual later fought each other in which Lual is accused of starting the fighting. He was 'hit back' and that when the soldier with him started shooting at random. People were injured at nearby houses and four people are reported to have died from gun shots. Some graphic images have been shared online and the report about the victim is yet to be completed.
