More than a month ago, 25 young mothers in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne formed a group that is now known as ‘It Takes a Village’. The primary objective for the young mothers is to help themselves to talk about their daily lives, their children, youth and prison and to help men to bond with their children. The ambitious project is meant to help change the perception of the South Sudanese community. On July 9 which is a South Sudanese independent day, the group travelled to two Youth justice centres in Victoria. The two centres are belives to host more than 50 young South Sudanese who are yet 18 years old in these two episodes. You will be listening to Achuei Chol and Amakou Bol who spearheaded the formation of 'it takes a village'.
