Aerospace Engineering student seeking better ways for South Sudan in his new book

When South Sudan got her independence in 2011, many questions on how, why and what to be done to make the new country a better place where being asked. Even though South Sudanese is a land to many indigenous communities with the past history of colonial rules, the country was actually neglected in in terms of economic development, education and the infrastructure. The term starting from scratch was used to help people understand the state of South Sudanese as the country with more resource but little to cater for her citizens.


To help answer many of those questions, a young South Sudanese called Sebur Nyuon Antipas Nyok Kucha authored his first book titled Road to Development in South Sudan. Sebur Nyuon Antipas is son one of the South Sudanese politician but chose to take his own approach on how South Sudanese problems could be resolved. The 239 pages book talk about youth, development, girls education, diversity, and agriculture as some of the areas will need to be supported in order to have a working nation.

Nyok was born in one of South Sudanese internal displace camp of Bumuri in central Equatoria. Nyuon is a son Mr. Antipas Nyok Kucha and Late Mary Nakang. He started his education at Bamure primary school. With struggles of going to school in a war zone, Nyuon had the support of his father to help pay the school fees of one dollar per a year by then. It was a very rough start because then, the school fee per year. In 2006, Nyuon moved to Arua where he completed his primary School at Arua public Primary school and completed his high school in 2014. In 2015 Nyuon was accepted to Shenyang Aerospace University in China. He is now a student studying Aerospace Engineering and Aircraft Manufacturing. Nyuon started writing his book in 2015 and was published in 2016. Here is his first interview on SBS Dinka Radio.
