As part of Diversity week in 2019, Victoria Police with African Employment Network welcomed many young people from African communities in Victoria. The program is meant to encourage many African youths in Victoria to join the police force. Akuot Martin Majier who works with Victoria police told SBS that no 'many South Sudanese who turn up at the event'. Akuot said,'swimming is a challenge to many young people'. The role of African Employment Network is to help young people pass exams and to learn to swim.
