Deng Bol Aruai: “We know people are suffering but we must stand with President”

In the 1980s, many under age people across South Sudan joined the Sudanese People Liberation Movement/A. Many of these people were also known as unaccompanied minors and later served as child soldiers during the war. They were named the Red Army or Terab (Seeds) by the chairman of the SPLM/A. Some of these youths (most now in their later 30s), formed the RED ARMY FOUNDATION as a not for profit organisation to represent those who served as well as to preserve the history of these young people. In recent years, the organisation's leadership is alleged to be taking sides in the politics of the country. Such criticism emerged during the 2013-2015 conflict. For the first time, we will be talking to Deng Bol Aruai, President of Red Army Foundation. Deng is proud to call himself a diehard support for the Government even if the people that he represents are also part of the opposition. Here is the interview with Deng while he was in Thailand
