In September (03/9/2010) a group of individuals from the then Dinka Bor community got together in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA, to form an organisation called Greater Bor Community-USA. According to the President of the organisation, GBC was formed on the basis of counties before it was opened to individual membership. Members of the Dinka Bor community who hailed from the three different counties of Twic East, Duk and Bor County formed the three pillars. In 2010, many people from the three administrative centres voiced their objection to the formation in which some members worked out in protest.

In 2016, Duk as a sign of protest against unaddressed issues in Jonglei State decided not to attend the GBC conference in Michigan. Twic County according to Deng Lueth supported the position taken by Duk. Bor County's leadership pushed for the election which was planned but this caused the wrangling within the meeting. According to Deng Lueth, 'the leadership of GBC was obligated to take a decision to postpone the election'. On 3 September 2016, the decision by Deng forced the President of Bor County to recall all his members from the organisation and eventually suspended Bor County from GBC. With all three pillars out of the organisation, is GBC dead and can it be revived? We ask President Deng Lueth Mayom Ayiik about the future of his organisations. This is exclusive interview on SBS Dinka Radio.
