Dor Akech Achiek came over 12 years ago to Australia as refugee from Kakuma. Dor went to School in Kenya before arriving in Australia in 2003. Now Dor is a father, a hardworking Australian with a masters degree, bachelor, two diplomas and good job. As member of the Australian community, Dor has worked with many agencies in NSW. Dor was among some of the refugees who reacted to a statement made recently by Australian Minister of Immigration Peter Dutton, "They won't be numerate or literate in their own language, let alone English... these people would be taking Australian jobs, there's no question about that... many of them would be unemployed, they would languish in unemployment queues," Dutton said.
