Since the formation of the Transitional Government of National Unity in South Sudan, the economic situation continues to deteriorate. Many South Sudanese had hoped the formation would help the economy but this has not been the case, particularly now with the fall of pound against the US dollar. In neighbouring countries, many South Sudanese are leaving schools because they cannot afford to pay and many workers are striking due to late salaries. To understand that situation, Akuar Dut of SBS Dinka radio interviewed Dr Alic Garang who is an economist working with the ebony centre in Juba. Alic mentioned the need for the South Sudanese to unite in order to improve the economy. Here is the interview in Dinka
