Former Minister Gier Chuang Aluong

Gier Chuang Aluong served in many positions as a Minister in South Sudan's government since 2005. After the conflict broke out in Juba on 15/12/2013, Gier was among the political leaders arrested and accused of taking part in the alleged coup attempt. Here is how Gier narrated the story of the arrest.


In 2013; Gier was arrested with the accusation that he participated in the alleged coup attempt which sparked the worse violence in the history of a new country and claimed thousands of lives. Gier denied the role and rejected the Government assertions but acknowledged his political opinion on the country issues.
