Ring Mayar is the 2018 elected South Sudanese Community Association leader in Victoria. Elected on the 10th March 2018, Mr Mayar and his team took office on 14th April after one year overstay of the outgoing office of Mr Manoah. Mayar election came at time South Sudanese Australian in Victoria needed a leader who is brave enough to advocate respectfully on behalf of the community. Is Ring Mayar the leader the community had been waiting for, or is he more of the same? With existence of more South Sudanese community groups in Victoria, will Ring and other community leaders find a working solution for young South Sudanese? SBS Dinka interviewed Mr Mayar, listen to his vision for the community and hold his leadership to account.
