South Sudan became independent on 9th July 2011 after over 20 years of civil war and years of peace negotiation with the Khartoum regime. To honour this day, SBS Dinka invited Kuir E Garang who is a political commentator on South Sudanese Politics.


Kuir is a PhD student, an independent author of nine books, and a lecturer who is living and working in Canada. Among his books are ‘South Sudan Ideologically’ and ‘Is Black Really Beautiful.’
