Lawyer Maker Mayek Riak is on the media again defending the African youth from the portrayal by the commercial media. The recent report by Channel 7, Sunday Night about the ‘African gangs’ caused an uproar in the community.

The report focused on two old stories and the journalist used the footage which was recorded during the Moomba festival almost three years ago. With the Victorian election at the corner, Maker said this was another attempt by the commercial media in their quest to portrait young Africans as bad people and to outrage the mainstream community. Maker condemned the report as bad report without anything new in it but the spread of hate. Here is the interviewed in Dinka.
