New data show home births, birth centres just as safe as hospital for healthy women

The authors of a study on Australian births say national data show home birthing is a safe option for healthy pregnant women. The study looked at data on more than 1.2 million Australian births over 12 years across three locations: hospitals, birthing centres and home births.
