Nhial Bol Aken was, until recently, a prominent South Sudanese journalist who owned Citizen TV and the Newspapers. After having some problems last year with the government, his newspaper was raided and forced to stop publication. Within weeks, Nhial had discharged his staff and stopped TV production as a mark of solidarity for a journalist who had been killed. Nhial later closed down his TV station and quit journalism in favour of a politician career. Nhial first joined a small party known as Sawasawa. After few months, he joined SPLM IO.
