On 25/06/2016, the South Sudanese town of Wau came under fire from an armed group that are alleged to have grouped themselves within the State. Leading up to the fighting, there were reports of sporadic shooting across the city with looting also reported. On Saturday according to a resident of Wau who was interviewed by SBS Dinka, the shooting escalated into a larger exchange between the South Sudanese army and the armed group. The intention or who the group belonged to is not yet known. Peter is a resident of Wau, said that many people have escaped from Wau heading toward Kuajok seeking safety. He is scared for his own safety and that of his family. Here is the interview in Dinka this morning of 26/06/2016.
