March 2, 2017 (JUBA) - On Wednesday the diaspora based members of Twic East Community accompanied by their National MP Deng Dau Deng Malek met President of South Sudan at Presidential Palace in Juba. This delegation is composed of Twic East's members from Australia, Canada, and the USA. The group went to Juba to push for the creation of new State out of Jonglei State. They met with the current Governor of Jonglei State Philip Aguer Panyang while he was in Juba.

in that meeting with the Governor, the group presented their points and position on why they need a State? The youth argued that their youth are in Juba because they have not been given their own State.

"We have about 400 hundred youth currently living in Juba and if the state was to be granted then these youth will be ready to go home"

The group intended to lobby politicians in Juba but they are yet to confirm if they will go to the State of Jonglei. To help understand the position of the current State leadership, we contacted Governor Aguer Panyang and here is the interview on SBS Dinka Radio
