In Australia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD is one of the challenges facing communities whose members are believed to have seen many bad things during the war. In order to understand the issue, we contacted James Garang Yai Malith who works a as counselor for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors service in NSW. James counsels people who came from either Middle Eastern regions or African countries. Also talking in this segment is David Ajak Ajang who is a Cultural Transition Project Officer at the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors service. David has been working with communities for the last 13 years in NSW and has spent 10 years with Startts in different capacities and previously worked with NSW Police for 3.5 years as a Multicultural Community Liaison Officer. This is an in depth discussion on issues facing South Sudanese in Australia and the role played by Startts.
