Source: Wikipedia

Music festivals in Australia and illegal drugs, not a happy combination and it has recently lead to some deaths. As a result the legislation around these festivals has been reviewed and sadly a few of these music festivals had to cancel upcoming festivities and in some cases close the door permanently. The subject of pill testing is very controversial in Australia, but in the Netherlands it has been done for over 25 years already. The DIMS, the Drugs Information Monitoring System has been in place for many years and Floor van Bakkum, preventative worker at one of the leading Dutch centers for addiction, Jellinek, explains it is a pragmatic approach aimed at harm reduction.
