The winners of the 'Victorians of the Year 2022' awards were recently announced. Leo op den Brouw, who has been a volunteer with the SES unit in Mallacoota for 35 years, was named Victorian Local Hero of the Year. He played an important role, when his community was hit by devastating bushfires, during the Summer of 2019-2020.
