A message from Department of Immigration about Visa holders and Corona virus

Crmen lazar Source: Daily telegraph

Many people outside Australia are concerned about their entry to the country amid the latest rules banning entry to Australia imposed by the government.

Manager of the Assyrian resource centre Carmen Lazar told SBS she received communication from the department of immigration assuring people who are holding permanent visa and preparing to travel to Australia will be exempted from the ban. The ban excludes Australian citizens and residence. People granted permanent visa overseas are considered residents therefor they will be allowed to enter to Australia.

Mrs Lazar also advises the community and specially relatives of new arrivals to refrain from hugging and kissing their relatives on reception in the airport and not to allow friends and relatives to come and visit them at home. Any one who arrives to Australia must be in self isolation for fourteen days as per the Australian government measure to stop the spread of corona virus.
