Assyrian Shimon Shlemon (Talia) was chosen as deputy governor of Dohuk

Our correspondent Nassem Sadiq informed us that Duhok Governorate Council convened to elect the deputy governor of Dohuk and a number of general directors in the governorate.


In this session the Assyrian lawyer Shamoun Shlemon was elected because he obtained the majority of votes from among three candidates.

It is noteworthy that this position is part of the Assyrian Democratic Movement’s share, according to an agreement with the ruling party in the region.

Nassem added that this election is not final, as the council of ministers in Kurdistan region will study the choice and issue an appointing decision.
