Assyrian YouTuber that reviews movies and documentaries

Source: Fourat Kifarkis

Fourat Kifarkis decided to open his own YouTube channel that would cover the latest news for films and documentaries. His decision was based on his belief that such a move would encourage more people to watch, learn, and engage with movies.

Fourat Kifarkis told SBS that he had this idea since he was very young. However, he finally managed to make his dream come true recently.

Under the name of "Minutes with Fourat", his channel does not only cover the news of the most recent movies but it also discusses some of the classical movies in which Mr. Fourat believes are the foundation of the movie industry.

Originally from Syria, Mr. Fourat also highlighted his journey and experience in living with his Assyrian community in Iraq. He said that he was overwhelmed by the amount of support he received from his new friends in Ankawa, Erbil - North of Iraq.

Although he currently presents his channel in the Arabic language, Mr. Fourat is looking to presenting his channel in Assyrian very soon as he notices many members of the Assyrian community are getting interested in his channel specifically and in movies generally.

Mr. Fourat also shared his thoughts on the negative impact that Covid-19 has brought on the film industry.
