Korean-born jazz drummer Chloe Kim performs at the 2018 Sydney Con International Jazz Festival featuring with professional jazz pianist Barney McAll.
More than 90 musicians participate in 24 concerts and master classes at the 2018 Sydney Con International Jazz Festival on this Sunday June 3.
Korean-born jazz drummer Chloe Kim (22) is believed to be one of the most outstanding instrumentalists currently enrolled in the Jazz Studies Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of music. She is one of the privileged students given an opportunity to perform at the festival with professional jazz musicians.
Chloe uses Korean musical traditions and rhythms to her jazz drumming language
Just like her mentor, Dr Simon Barker. Dr Barker is a lecturer in Jazz Studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and he is a well-known jazz drummer in Australia who especially shown an experimental music featuring with Korean traditional music and Pansori.
Chloe also has been enjoying free improvisation with her group Improper Citation.
