Most of the families in COVID-19 hotspots in Melbourne are abiding to the instructions to stay at home. The opinion of some residents of those hotspots was consulted about the spread of the virus. Imposing staying at home, what do people do at home? and how are they responding to the restrictions?

Mr. Adward Khoshaba is an activist in the community in Melbourne. He says that he kept some books at home and spent some of his day reading. He added that he would spend some other time exercising and walking in the nearby park in the area. He said that during this period, he was interested in contacting relatives and friends to check on them. He pointed out that the numbers of the COVID-19 cases are gradually decreasing, and this is a joy. He also said that the government and officials have laid down the instructions that considers to be very important, and for his family part,  is bound by them.
As for Mr. Hani Pito, executive director of Orhay Assyrian Language School in Melbourne , he says, "We thought we had got rid of the pandemic, but it has spread again". He also believes that the authorities have done a wonderful job to reduce the spread of infections after a second outbreak. He added that the instructions were widely disseminated through phone messages or large signs in the streets, urging people to take the virus test. He said "I am a teacher and schools are on vacation, so I spend my time writing a book on how to learn the Assyrian language.
He stated that staying at home also has positive outcomes, as people have strong social ties and people seem to communicate more to check on each other. And people have stopped visiting each other as directed.
As for Dr. Noel Kalakvan, (retired doctor), he says that the instructions issued, were very important and it was required to tighten compliance with them.
He pointed out that the only remedy for this pandemic is social distancing, although it is difficult, but for a short period until the pandemic has ended.
He noted that, the measures of Ministry of Health’s procedures were very good and added: “We as a family, are literally committed to all instructions.”
Doctor Noel says that my children go to their work, and one of them works from home and we feel more comfortable about that.
