Adelaide hosts a Judo seminar inviting 2008 Beijing Olympic Judo gold medalist Min-Ho Choi in October.

South Australia Judo Academy hosts a Judo seminar that invites one of Korea’s greatest Judo players, Min-Ho Choi. The 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist ended all 5 of his matches by knockout and defeated European champion Ludwig Paischer in the final for the gold medal.

Mr Choi who retired in 2012, worked as a Korea’s national Jodo coach until 2016.

Toni Choi, a volunteer coach with a Korean background of the South Australia Judo Academy, says when it comes to Judo, most of the people only remember Japan where Judo was created.

“Korea also has made much achievement in Judo, and most of competition Korea usually places top ranks. We want to promote Korean Judo by inviting Korean Judo world champion, Min-Ho Choi.” Mr Toni Choi says.

He also mentioned as his coach Steven Brown in the South Australia Judo Academy played in the Beijing Olympics as an Australian national player, there have been great interests of inviting Min-Ho Choi.

The four days seminar kicks off on 5 October in Adelaide.

The full interview with Judo World Champion Min-Ho Choi is available on the podcast above.
