As 15th of March comes closer, Assyrian Aid Society's preparations for the second Australian Mesopotamian night are going ahead intensively to present a cultural and artistic evening never seen before in Australian Assyrian community.Tens of artists, performers and musicians are participating to make this event a memorable one.

Niramsin Yakou is an artist, performer and creative character. This year he is participating in Mesopotamian night with a group of performers to present a special show that compromises lights, music, costumes and dance.

Niramsin is the Choreographer and main stage character in this production. He plays the role of King Ashurbanipal.

He told SBS that preparations for the show been going on for more than three months. Although most of the performers are non Assyrians, but they find great joy in playing ancient Assyrian Characters.

A song will be performed in modern Assyrian and Akkadian languages. One of the performers is from African origin and that reflects King Asurbanipal beliefs of including different races in his army including previous POW captured during the King's wars.

Mr Yakou also invites the public to attend the concert and don't fear the corona virus situation. He said the organisers have taken all steps necessary as per department of health to maximise safety for the audience.
