A display of national flags lies on the shores of Lake Blake Griffin in Canberra, a flag for each country with a diplomatic mission in the Australian capital. On Friday, November 20th, the Albanian flag will fly in the park (Commonwealth Park). Flag will be raised one month after the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania.

The initiative to open the flag park first came in 1999, from Governor General Sir William Deane. Today the lake park has become an important attraction for tourists and locals.

A total of 110 flags fly in the park, representing 108 Missions that have a diplomatic presence as well as the flags of the European Union and the United Nations.
