Space2b is an open social design store, established to empower refugee and new arrival communities to create their own work, and become financially independent. It's gone from two pop-ups to a permanent store and gallery, and the social enterprise now hopes to crowd-fund its seed-funding, allowing it to operate on its own. Sarah Abo reports.

As a one-stop-shop for unique and diverse creations, Space-2-b celebrates the traditions of the cultures across the world.

The Melbourne social enterprise prides itself on unearthing rare talent from new and emerging communities..

Janine Laurie and Mariam Issa are the women behind the space, created to support refugees, and promote their skills.

Mariam Issa says they also want them to be seen in a different light.
