The partial demolition of the Nineveh wall prompted protests and condemnation from communities around the world, especially Assyrians. But some non Assyrians, who are passionate and supportive of the Assyrian cause, didn't hesitate to speak out and show their concern about the attempts to destroy a precious part of history.

Mr Milan Maksimovic is a Serbia-Australian activist and advocate to many causes including the Assyrians. His Assyrian wife Hilda, is also a supportive and advocate for many issues related to the Assyrian community.

SBS Assyrian spoke to Mr Maksimovic in regards to his opinion regarding the Nineveh wall issue.

Mr Maksomovic said it is one of the saddest and most disappointing things that has happened, not only for Assyrians but to the whole world.

He says that he posted the story on his facebook account and within 3-4 days, more than 25K reached the post and many shared it on social media.

Milan says "It is unfortunate the mainstream media is not paying attention to this horrendous act committed by some unknown people but under the watch of the Iraqi government."

The interview is in English with Assyrian summary at the end.
