The Albanian Australian Community Association of Dandenong - Keshava will host the Albanian festival this Sunday on March 6, in the City of Greater Dandenong.
The driving force behind this festival are the leaders of the Albanian-Australian community in Dandenong together with Dandenong Thunder Soccer Club, with support from the City of Dandenong Council.
The Albanian festival resumes after a several years long hiatus, the last two being affected by the tough anti-pandemic restrictions in the state of Victoria.
Traditionally, a great number of diverse community-led festivals in Australia are encouraged and supported to celebrate the key elements of their culture, that unfold against the backdrop of the Australian lifestyle of those communities.
The Albanian festival is therefore a joyful cultural event, which enables the Albanian-Australians of the local Dandenong and throughout Victoria, to reconnect with each other in the dedicated festival space at the premises of "Dandenong Thunder" SC, at George Andrews Reserve, Trewin Street, in South Dandenong, from 10 a.m. this Sunday.
A full day of celebration and entertainment is being scheduled, whilst the community can enjoy the vibrancy of Albanian culture through Albanian songs and dances played by local bands, with food in the stalls of traditional cuisine and via the colourful display of Albanian national costumes.
It is also a day for community members of all ages to experience the enduring benefits of cultural diversity in a festive and convivial Albanian-Australian atmosphere.
