SBS COVID-19 awareness campaign with different languages is an initiative to get the message to as many Australians as possible. The Assyrian version of this campaign has brought a lot of awareness and also a pride for Assyrians around the globe to see their language published on a national broadcaster such as SBS

One of the founders and first broadcasters of SBS Assyrian program, Mr Philimon Darmo, told the Assyrian program that what SBS is doing in this issue is a great contribution to the Australian society, as information about COVID-19 are updated and published almost on daily basis.

Most importantly for the Assyrian community, not only in Australia but around the world and through SBS Assyrian program, people can be educated and informed in Assyrian language. It is a pride and honour to see our language preserved and published through the infographs and publications on social media.

Mr Darmo is normally commissioned by various government departments to translate and present many information from English to Assyrian language, to be distributed as pamphlets or on official websites for Assyrians in Australia.

Mr Darmo said that the latest project he will start, is working on a four thousand word publication, to be published in a specially created Assyrian version of the Fairfield City Council website.
