The role of Intellectual renaissance in our nation

Assyrian Thinkers

Assyrian thinker Hermiz Tiro said that we face our inability to distinguish between the concept of the people and the concept of nationalism. And this difference comes only in the political field. People are a group that lives in one place and feels things in common. Or live in separate places, but they share similar characteristics, such as the Jewish people and the Assyrian people.

Such a designation is historically ancient, but nationalism has recently entered history since the French Revolution of 1789, when national trends began with peoples in the world.
He added that at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, an intellectual renaissance began, with which the idea of nationalism was entered into our nation by activists such as Naum Faiq, Ashur d’ harput, Farid Nazha and others.
He affirmed that as Assyrians, we need to politically deliver our message to the politicians of the world and the international organizations as a people.. And if we obtain a homeland, then our name as a nation is correct.
He said that we also need to build the nation on the basis of building human being first and then building strong institutions. He explained that building a person starts from home, then school and society.
On the part of institutions, we are witnessing that some people are trying to harm our institutions and our parties due to the complicated circumstances in which they live and the loss of hope for politicians.
I believe that the nation is strengthened when its institutions are strengthened, whether it is political, cultural, sporting, charitable, artistic, etc.
