One of the older suburbs being established in 1904, Quakers Hill is colloquially known as 'Quakers'. Now "divided" by the overpass M7, Quakers Hill is 40 kilometres west of the Sydney CBD.

There used to be a lot  of chicken farms in the area until its re-development in the 90s'.  And now, most of the dwellings are townhouses. Constructions of townhouses continue.

In the state electorate district, Quakers Hill is part of Blacktown and Riverstone. In the federal division, Chifley and Greenway, both stronghold of the Labor party, cover the area.

The suburb hosts Quakers Hill Masjid, established in 2009, and serves as a place for Muslims living in the suburb and other neighbouring areas to come together for  information, education and their daily prayers.

In the Blacktown area, many Catholic churches have Filipinos as their assistant parish priest, but, at the moment, there's only one Filipino Parish priest - Fr. Ruben Elago of Mary Immaculate Catholic Church.

Quakers Hill is home to a few schools and educational institutions. The oldest is Quakers Hill Public School, opened in 1912. To cope with growing population, Barnier and Hambledon primary schools opened in the 1990s.  High schools are split between Quakers Hill High School for Years 7-10, and Wyndham College, for years 11-12. A Catholic primary school (Mary Immaculate) and high school (St Paul John II Catholic, formerly Terra Sancta College) also operate. Aside from Wyndham College and St Paul John II  College, the so-called Nirimba Education Precinct houses both Nirimba TAFE College and the University of Western Sydney, Blacktown Campus, which offer post-secondary education.

Filipino establishments

There was a time when Filipinos owned small establishments in the area, but they were overtaken by the Chinese and Indian entrepreneurs. Now it is left with one owned by a Filipino, Chow King (formerly Pag-asa Asian Store). A long-time resident, Dr Corazon Franciso still maintains a medical clinic on Tallagandra Street.
