Face-kini, a type of swim wear that fully covers body with only three holes opened on the face to allow you see and breath, has launched its 6th upgrade of designs recently.
'Hope face-kini becomes a mainstream world fashion', said Zhang Shifan, who started designing the swim wear to protect local beach-goers from sunburn and jelly fish sting since 2004.
Animals in danger such as panda, as well as Chinese traditional dragon, phoenix and peacock patterns are featured in the new design. Some head masks borrow artistic face-painting patterns from Beijing Opera.
Although some on social media make laugh of the design ‘burning your eyes’, in China's northeastern coast city Qing Dao, face-kini has become many female swimmers' essential item in the summer.
