It is difficult to follow conversations when you are not familiar with the slang terms your Aussie colleagues use. To help you out, we have put together a list of Aussie slang terms commonly used in the workplace. So next time you speak to your colleagues, you will know what they mean. 

1. Cuppa - Coffee or tea

"Would you like a cuppa?"

2. Brekkie - Breakfast

"Let's grab some brekkie."

3. Arvo - Afternoon

"I'm going to the post office this arvo."

4. Bludger - A lazy colleague

"My mate is such a bludger. She's so lazy."

5. Chuck a sickie - Call in sick

"I'm not coming in for work today, I've chucked a sickie."

6. Smoko - Cigarette break

"I'm havin' a smoko."

7. Stickybeak - A nosy person or pakialamero

"Stickybeak Miranda can't help spilling the beans to Susan."

8. Holiday - Vacation

"I wanna go on a holiday."

9. Grab a feed - Get something to eat

"Let's grab a feed, I'm hungry."

10. Ta - Thank you
