Many Australians celebrate Father’s Day by showing their love and appreciation for their fathers or to anyone that represent a father figure in their lives.

There are many different ways to show their acts of appreciation and may include the following:

  • Presents such as chocolates, clothing, hobby equipments, gift vouchers, handmade or purchased cards.
  • A day out in the park, at the movies, or another place of interest.
  • Breakfasts, lunches, or dinners either at home, at a restaurant, or at a favourite café.
  • Father’s Day charity activities, to raise funds for causes such as services for the visually/hearing impaired  or research on prostate cancer.
  • Some families may prefer to visit places of worship together, like churches, synagogues or mosques.
  • Some family members may offer a gift of music or poetry, a CD or DVD or an originally written poem or song.
Whatever is the preferred option to celebrate Father’s day is surely meant to show the love and appreciation for the fathers and father figures in the family.
