1. Place a mirror on the wall facing the dining table.

When you sit down, all you’re looking at is that plate of food (glorious food!) in front of you, and your husband who hasn’t looked up from his phone the whole time he’s sat down.
Maybe it’s the image of you eating that last slice of pizza. Or maybe it’s the heightened awareness of your weight loss journey. It's said that hanging a mirror opposite from where you sit will make you eat less junk. A study actually found that people tend to eat almost one-third less of what they usually consume when they eat in front of a mirror.
On the plus side, you can check whether or not that piece of spinach got wedged in between your teeth.
2. Tie a ribbon around your waist before eating.

Do as the French do.
A good number of French women wear a ribbon around their waist before they go out for dinner. Discreet enough to be hidden underneath clothing, a ribbon will prevent overeating as it feels tighter the more your stomach expands.
3. See blue while eating.

While warm colours like red and orange are appetite stimulants, subdued and cool colours such as blue and grey are appetite suppressants.
So, paint your dining area blue. Use a blue table cloth, blue plates and blue utensils. You can even dye your food blue.
4. Do not eat while watching action movies.

According to the Journal of the American Medical Association: Internal Medicine, people who snack while watching television tend to eat twice more food when watching an action flick compared to a talk show. This is because people watching action flicks while snacking are less likely to pay attention to the amount of food they put in their mouths.
5. Sniff on these.

Sniffing on extra virgin olive oil will give you a sense of satiation, while food with soft and sweet smells such as apples, bananas and vanilla curb appetite.
Just make sure you’re not binging on ice cream while sniffing these. It won’t work.
