Philippines records its highest daily increase in coronavirus deaths

The Philippines' Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 401 new coronavirus deaths, the highest single-day spike in fatalities since the start of the pandemic.

According to Reuters report, the Philippine's health department also recorded 12,225 additional infections.

In its bulletin, the health ministry said that total confirmed cases had risen to 840,554, while confirmed deaths had reached 14,520.

There were 946 new recoveries. In total, 647,683 has recovered.

While 178,351 are still considered active cases.
