At least 200 dead as Tropical Storm Tembin batters the southern Philippines

At least 200 people have died as Tropical Storm Tembin (locally called Vinta) has battered the southern Philippines.


More than 75,000 people have been displaced, while many others remain missing.

And the news bulletin including the hundreds of police officers being deployed in Melbourne to monitor the city's Carols by Candlelight and the Boxing Day Test match.
