Two weeks of war games under Exercise Alon 2025 in the Philippines, involving Filipino, Australian, and Canadian troops, are set to conclude on 29 August 2025.

  • The military exercises focused on air defense and photo exercise that involved precision sailing and naval coordination.
  • Seventeen members of Congress through House Resolution Number 192, asked President Marcos Jr to stand firm against China’s aggressive tactics in the West Philippine Sea and asked the President to request UN General Assembly to push for 2016 South China Sea arbitral ruling.
  • Malacañang has asked integrity-checking government agencies namely, the Ombudsman, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs and Commission On Audit to investigate suspicious irregular projects in government.
  • The campaign period for the first Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections has officially started with elections scheduled for 13 October 2025.
