Federal government splits omnibus bill

The Coalition will now try to pass billions of dollars in cuts to welfare in a separate piece of legislation.

 

 

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is determined to pass both bills in the coming fortnight (from March 22) to clear his legislative agenda before the May budget.
