Government announces plan for anti-corruption commission

The Federal Government has proposed the establishment of a new anti-corruption commission, but the Opposition says the Government plan is too limited in scope.


The Commonwealth Integrity Commission would have two divisions, focusing on law-enforcement agencies and the public sector, including senior public servants as well as politicians.

 

The commission would not hold public hearings into allegations of corruption against politicians.
