The Quezon Memorial Circle lit up in green and gold last May 22 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Philippines-Australia Bilateral Relations and Friendship Day.


The historical marker lit up in Australian colors in recognition of the events in 1942 when Australia welcomed former President Manuel L. Quezon and his government after fleeing Corregidor Island in Bataan and travelled to Australia and the U.S. seeking refuge during World War Two.
