Christmas festivals and events are in full swing across Australia, hosted by various Filipino communities, and Victorians are not to be left behind.

Key Points

  • The Pasko sa Melbourne, Joy to the World will take place on 8 December 2024, from 9am to 4pm at the Queen Victoria Market.
  • The event will feature Filipino cuisine at various stalls, along with the Sama-Sama Salu-Salo Filipino Christmas Feast by Uling The Charcoal Project.
  • There will also be performances, including folk dances, choir presentations, and a special appearance by Mary An Van der Horst.

According to Florence Dato of The Empowered Australian Multicultural Society Inc., one of the organisers in partnership with the Filipino-Australian Student Council of Victoria and the Philippine Consulate in Melbourne, the event underscores the importance of bringing Filipinos in Australia together and sharing their traditions with other communities.
