The Department of National Defence has announced urgent implementation of the Enhanced Defence Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) between the Philippines and United States of America

  • There will be four additional sites under the EDCA
  • The United States will station American soldiers at the EDCA sites “on a rotational basis”.
  • The DND says, the four additional sites will enable faster humanitarian and disaster response from the US during calamities
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin III has made it clear that America will not build permanent military bases under the agreement (EDCA).
