Learning English through water safety

Ten women - five Filipino and five Chinese - will complete the program which promotes water safety while learning English in western Sydney.


Under the Water Safety Grant, Asian Women at Work and Philippine Australian Community Services Inc. (PACSI) are in partnership for this project where the participants undertake a 30-minute swimming lessons after an hour of learning English.

Filipino and Chinese communities are among the migrant communities in Australia who are at high-risk when it comes to water safety.

Nelia Sungcad, community worker from PACSI shares the details of the program which finishes on April 13th.
