NBA-backed academy in Canberra offers new hope, access

A groundbreaking partnership between Basketball Australia and the United States' National Basketball Association (NBA) has led to a Global Academy for the sport in Canberra. Image: Wani Swaka (SBS)

The academy is expected to fast-track elite talent from around the world into the US college-basketball system and, ultimately, the NBA itself.

 

Based at the Australian Institute of Sport, it also gives Australia's best prospects the chance to prove they belong with the world's best.
