In Year 2000, 63 children under the age of five drowned while in 2017, 18 children under five drowned. Laurie Lawrence, learn to swim ambassador, says he wants to further reduce that number to zero.
If you know anyone under five years of age, this week is a good time to learn how to swim. Around 400 swim schools in Australia are offering FREE swimming lessons from 2 October to 9 October.
